Transactional SMS Workflows for Personalized Customer Retention: Best Practices

As a business owner or manager, you're constantly looking for ways to optimize your processes and improve efficiency. One tool that can help you achieve these goals is workflows. Workflows are a series of steps or tasks that are completed in a specific order to achieve a particular goal. In this blog post, we'll explore how workflows can streamline your business processes and help you work more efficiently.

What is a Workflow?

A workflow is a sequence of steps to achieve a goal that streamlines processes, and improves efficiency, consistency, and collaboration while reducing errors and redundancy. Workflows can help businesses to optimize their processes, achieve objectives, and collect data for continuous improvement, resulting in better productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

What are some Transactional SMS Workflows that can be used by a business?

SMS workflows can be an effective way to communicate with customers and keep them engaged with your business. Here are some examples of SMS workflows for customers:

  • Welcome message: Send a welcome message to new customers when they sign up for your service or make a purchase. This message can include a brief introduction to your business and an invitation to explore your products or services. Here is an example of a Welcome SMS message sent to a customer after collecting their phone number:

  • Order confirmation: Send an SMS message to customers after they have placed an order to confirm the details of their purchase. This message can include the order number, expected delivery date, and a thank you message for their business.

  • Shipping updates: Keep customers informed about the status of their orders by sending SMS messages with shipping updates. This can include tracking information, delivery notifications, and any delays or issues that may arise.

  • Collect Email Address: We can use SMS messages to collect the email addresses of customers. By using the right amount of keywords in their SMS campaigns, businesses can collect and use email as a medium to communicate authentically.

  • Customer feedback: Send SMS messages to customers after they have purchased or used your service to solicit feedback. This can help you improve your offerings and provide better customer service. Research has proved that 98% of customers rely on feedback/ reviews before making a purchase.

  • Appointment reminders: Send SMS messages to remind customers of upcoming appointments or reservations. This can include the date, time, and location of the appointment, as well as any preparation or instructions they need to know.

Overall, SMS workflows can be a powerful tool for engaging with customers and building strong relationships with them. By using these workflows effectively, you can increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
